Generating the evidence that shapes practice and policy.

Research & Evidence

We do not just deliver care. We study it, share it, and use it to change what ROP services look like across the region.

The Evidence Gap

Most published ROP data comes from high-income countries.

ROP research from low- and middle-income countries is scarce. Yet the epidemiology, risk factors, and service delivery challenges in places like Kenya and Uganda are fundamentally different from those in the US or UK.

Without local evidence, services get designed around the wrong assumptions. Without published data, governments and funders do not understand the scale of the problem. And without that understanding, children keep losing their sight.

EyeSHA is committed to changing this producing rigorous, locally-grounded research that fills the gap.

Our Research

What we are studying.

Our research spans screening, epidemiology, service design, and outcomes across multiple countries and in collaboration with leading global institutions.

Sharing Our Findings

Putting local evidence on the global stage.

Our research spans screening, epidemiology, service design, and outcomes across multiple countries and in collaboration with leading global institutions.
